Titanic Honor & Glory – 25ft Cutter Lifeboat

This project showcases a historically accurate 25ft Cutter lifeboat created for Titanic: Honor and Glory. The model was built with a strong focus on period-correct construction, materials, and structural details based on extensive historical references.

The asset was developed as a game-ready model, with optimized topology and UV layouts for repetitive tileable textures to ensure high performance while preserving visual fidelity. Special attention was given to the wooden hull and interior construction, and subtle surface variation to achieve a realistic, lived-in look suitable for close-up cinematic shots as well as in-game exploring environments.

The model was designed to support reusable, tileable PBR textures, with material breakup and surface definition driven through efficient UV layout and geometry rather than unique baked textures. This approach allows for flexible material variation, optimized memory usage, and seamless integration into Unreal Engine environments, supporting both real-time gameplay and high-quality presentation renders.

Special thanks to the research team at VDR for finding invaluable historical references and engineering diagrams that enabled this level of accuracy.

This piece reflects my passion for historical environment art, material storytelling, and creating optimized assets that balance realism with performance.
